Ohio's 4-H Cloverbud Program is for youth age 5 and in kindergarten until they reach age 8 and in the third grade.

Cloverbuds explore areas of healthy lifestyle, earth/environment, citizenship, plants and animals, consumerism and family science, science and technology, personal development, and community expressive arts.

Cloverbud Engineering Adventure Day
June 27, 2026

When: Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.; Event starts at 10 a.m.
Where: Portage County Randolph Fairgrounds, Entertainment/H-Building

Portage County is hosting a Cloverbud Engineering Adventure Day this year and we are inviting all Cloverbuds to join the fun. If you have a Cloverbud who did not register for a team this year, and would like to see what Cloverbud Engineering Adventure day is all about, we will be offering opportunities for Cloverbuds to participate in the activities portion of the day and see projects from other Cloverbud teams.

Activites include:

  • Make and take American Flag craft
  • STEM building challenges
  • Story-time with a "Founding Father"
  • Learning about American and local history

This event is free for Portage County Cloverbuds! (Cost is $10 for Cloverbuds from other counties.) Registration is not mandatory but is recommended so we can plan accordingly for supplies. Register here: go.osu.edu/26cbengineeringday

2026 Cloverbud Activies 

Don’t miss the2025 Cloverbud Share July 12se chances to shine! We can’t wait to see all the incredible ideas and projects Cloverbuds have been working on! 

  • Cloverbud Sharing - Participate in Cloverbud Sharing, Saturday, July 18 at 2 p.m. at the Portage County Fairgrounds. Open to ALL Cloverbuds from any club! Bring anything you have done or made in 4-H this year to share!
  • Recite the 4-H Pledge - Proudly recite the 4-H Pledge during the Portage County 4-H Public Speaking and Mock Interview Contest Saturday, July 18 at 4 p.m. at the Portage County Fairgrounds. Open to ALL Cloverbuds from any club.
  • Cloverbud Style Revue - Participate in the Cloverbud Style Revue, Thursday, July 23 at 4:30 p.m. at Ravenna High School. The style revue begins at 5 p.m. Cloverbuds can fill out a narration card when they arrive and model any wearable or holdable item they made and would like to share! Open to Cloverbuds from any club!

  • Cloverbud Engineering Adventure Showcase - Portage County will be a host county! Saturday, June 27 at 10 a.m. at the Portage County Fairgrounds. Open to Cloverbud Teams from any club! Information can be found at: https://u.osu.edu/cloverbudconnections/engineering-adventure/

    ​Cloverbud Dog Show

All Portage County Cloverbuds are invited to participate in the second annual Cloverbud Dog Show at the Portage County Fair. Bring a stuffed dog to show (or one will be provided).

When: August 26, 2026, at 11 a.m. (following the dog show)

Where: Hamilton Arena, Portage County Randolph Fair
