"Hello! I’m excited to be a part of the Portage County 4-H Family!"
A little background on me. I grew up in Wayne County and showed dairy cattle, sheep and pigs through my local 4-H club, Canaan Hoof-n-Hide. I also took some still projects and had various leadership roles in my 4-H club. I was also very involved in my high school FFA chapter - Norwayne FFA.
I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2012 with a bachelors in Agriculture Communications and took a job as editor of Spectrum Publications at The Daily Record in Wooster. In 2015, I became a reporter for Farm and Dairy newspaper where I got to cover so many wonderful agricultural stories and meet so many great people including some folks here in Portage County.
In 2018, I decided to go back to school and get my career technical teaching license and become an Agriscience Educator and FFA advisor at the school I graduated from, Norwayne. I also received my masters in Education from Kent State University while working toward my teaching license.
Back to 4-H. I’ve always had a passion for agriculture and working with youth to reach their fullest potential. In the short time that I have been a part of this county, I have seen so much potential for 4-H’ers to do incredible things and that is due in part to the dedication of the amazing volunteers in this county. I look forward to continuing to help the youth and volunteers in their journey to “Make the Best Better!”
