EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program) is a free nutrition education program offered in several counties in Ohio for limited-resource adults with children and youth. Participants have fun while they increase their food prep skills, learn new recipes and techniques, and meet new friends.

EFNEP is funded by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), a branch of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The program operates through Extension offices at land-grant institutions in every state and in the six U.S. territories. In Ohio, EFNEP is administered by Ohio State University Extension.

Portage County EFNEP has one program assistant who offers her programs to non-profit agencies, schools, churches, and community correction facilities, among others. Jeannie Yount is the EFNEP program assistant for adult programming and she would be happy to visit area organizations to present our respective curricula and discuss how EFNEP may benefit those you serve.
